We are in Roma, Italia! It's scorching hot here ... but absolutely beautiful. We have had a somewhat difficult time locating a reliable WiFi connection, so we haven't been able to really get online yet to update in detail and upload our pictures. We will do so ASAP. However, it is currently 11:00 am in Roma, Italia ... 1,000,000 degrees ... 200% humidity ... and we're off to the Jewish Ghetto!

ReplyDeleteJust looked in my Pizza Quest book by Peter Reinhart for places he loved in Italy. I thought I'd throw them out there in case you needed help finding places to eat. The following are in Rome and are on his list of the best places for Pizza and Focaccia.
Da Baffetto - Peter says this is the best in Roman Style Pizza. He tasted other Roman style pizza and thought nothing was as good as what was at Da Baffetto. On Via del Governo Vecchio in the Campo Marzio section of Rome.
Antico Forno in the Camp Dei Fiori section of Rome. They make a red and a white pizza. It's seven feet long and he ate the whole thing on the way back to the hotel. The pizza sounds like it comes by the slice or by the meter if you don't want seven feet of pizza. Doesn't sound like there is a dinning room so this might be a grab and go option.
I have more suggestions for Nalopi but I'll save those for another day.

Weather here is exceptionally nice! Sorry to hear you have had some hot weather-I know you SF people are spoiled with fog. Don't gain too much weight!
